In an area soon to become designated as a National
Park this 161 km (100 mile) Trail for walkers, horse riders and cyclists
follows wide grassy tracks on rolling chalk downland and takes on average
6 days to complete.

Friston Forest is 3,000 acres of woodland with a multitude
of tracks making it possible to ride for hours without leaving
the forest. (Must purchase a Forestry Commission Permit). Forestry commision
permits are avaliable from us. For the cyclist
there are marked routes, which include a family cycle trail, mountain
bike trail and three forest and downland walks. The village of West Dean
and the Seven Sisters Country Park are within easy reach. Lullington Heath
and the Long Man can also be accessed from Friston Forest.
An 800 acre wood with a lake in the centre. Open to
riders (with a Forestry Commission Permit). The horse
box park is opposite the Old Oak Inn. For the walkers there are two marked
circular trails. Either the Abbot’s Amble (yellow footprints) or
the shorter Oak Walk (red footprints). Play area and BBQ’s available.
No Cycling.
Designated as a Local Nature Reserve. Circular Trail
approx 4 k.m. Ideal for nature study. Dogs welcome on lead only. No horses
or cycling.
